Guadalupe Briano holds Postdoctoral (Bowling Green State University, USA) and Doctoral studies in Accounting and Finance (Universidad of Cantabria, Spain and University of Liverpool, UK). Dr. Briano is Associate Professor at Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi, Center of Research and Postgraduate Studies of the Accounting and Business School, Mexico. She was the Head of the Center of Research and Postgraduate Studies (2017-2020). Dr. Briano is fellow from the National Researchers System in Mexico (Level 1) and an active member of several national and international professional/research networks: Alumni of the global Prize Ethics & Trust in Finance for a Sustainable Future (Switzerland), Mexican Institute of Executives in Finance (Mexico), International Corporate Governance Society (USA), International Family Enterprise Research Academy (USA), Mexican Research Network in Family Firms. Dr. Briano has received several national and international grants for her research on finance and family firms’ topics. For instance, State Award for Scientific and Technological Research 2020 of the State Council of Science and Technology (Young Researcher Category in the area of Social Sciences and Humanities); Second place in the National Prize for Public Finance in Mexico 2020, Chamber of Deputies and the Centre for Studies of Public Finance in Mexico; First place in the international award on corporate finance research IMEF-EY (2013 and 2016); First place for her research papers on Latin American family firms at UDEM University in Mexico (2015, 2016 y 2017); Grant on gender studies by Emerald/CLADEA (2015); and Finalist in the International Ethics in Finance- Robin Cosgrove Prize (2013). Dr. Briano has published several papers in high quality and indexed (JCR) journals on the following topics: corporate governance in family firms, ethical finance, gender studies and corporate social responsibility. Dr. Briano is a member of editorial committees of different journals in Latin America, Asia and Europe.
